While excavating today to prepare for the installation of drainage galleries, the remains of an earlier seawall were found. The old seawall ran directly in-line with the walls that create the southern boundaries for the two abutting properties. (The hydraulic hammer took the wall apart easily before lunch.)
The aerial photos from 1934 (showing the discovered wall) and from 1965 (without that wall) show that a portion of the "beach" below was filled, a new wall was built, and as a result, the lot was made larger and extends further into the Sound than the others.
